Abstract
The processing and mechanical properties of natural fibre composites were investigated. Three kinds of kenaf-hemp-non-woven materials impregnated with an acrylic matrix were used. The natural fibre composites were press moulded and showed good mechanical properties. It was clarified on the basis of the microscopic observation of the fracture surfaces that the adhesion of natural fibres and matrix was important in order to obtain good mechanical properties.
